Before you go

What to Know Before You Go

Practical planning for a five-day Test in Melbourne, written for visiting fans.

  • Plan for five days, not one

A Test runs across five days. Fans travelling internationally typically build a 7–10 day Melbourne trip around it, with rest days for the city and the coast.

  • Melbourne in March

Late summer. Warm days, cool evenings and genuinely changeable weather — pack a hat, sunscreen and a light jacket for the same session.

  • Getting to the ground

The MCG sits in Yarra Park, a short walk from the CBD and served by train and tram. Walking from the city along the Yarra is the classic approach.

  • Ground rules change

Bag size limits, permitted items and entry gates are set by the venue and can change. Always check the official MCG website before match day.

  • Buy tickets only from official sellers

When tickets are announced, use the official ticketing channels named by the organisers. Jubilee Test does not sell tickets.

  • Book accommodation early

A milestone Test plus Melbourne's March event calendar means rooms near the ground go quickly. Flexible-cancellation rates are worth the small premium.
